Dearld( Pete) Ray Peal Sr., 67, Drywaller, passed away September 23, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dearld was born April 15, 1950 in Muscogee, Oklahoma to parents Charles Peal and Lavelva Farr Peal and was the youngest of 8 siblings; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Dearld, or Pete as he was known by, grew up with his brothers and sisters in Muscogee country side doing what they could to help and go to school. He attended school up until the 8th grade before he had leave to help support the family. That would surprise most people because if you met him you would know he was the master of many talents. What Pete didn’t know, he learned. He held the profession of a framer sheet rocker and could build a house from the ground up! He built a reloading room where he could make his own shells and ammunition for hunting as well as create his own sinkers for fishing. He was proficient as a mechanic and you could always find him tinkering and improving his truck or car. He even attempted (and succeeded) at fixing his daughter Misty’s plug in!
Pete met the love of his life Betty White through Betty’s brother. They became inseparable and he knew could not live without her. They were married 47 years at the time of his passing and he and Betty raised 3 children, Kelly Watson, Dearld Peal Jr and Misty Williams. Pete and Betty would go on to become grandparents of 6 and great-grandparents to 7 children.
Pete loved life and you generally loved life when you were around him. He loved to play horse shoes or Domino’s if the weather got bad, then it would be back out to play horse shoes again! He loved to make jokes and play tricks on unsuspecting family members and friends. He loved to sit in his truck and listen to country music and if the weather got bad, he would often be found watching a good western on T.V. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He went hunting every season- some seasons were better than others but, he loved it and it was better than working.
If Pete was asked what he was most proud of, he would answer without hesitation, his family. He adored his wife who meant the world to him, he loved his children with every fiber of his being and still found a deeper love and joy when he was with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by all those who loved him and whom he loved in return.
