Harold Dean Merriott, 68, passed away August 22, 2017 in Clinton, Oklahoma. Harold was born December 24, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Harold dedicated his life to serving our country. He was very devoted to the things he personally believed in. In May of 1966, Harold enlisted in the United States Army Corp and worked as a Unit Supply Specialist, Material Control and Accounting Specialist and Instructor before his retirement as an E8 and Honorable discharge. Harold set goals for himself in life and relentlessly pursued them. During his military career he was the honored recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/ Second Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ One Silver Star and One Bronze Star, Army Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon w/ Numeral Four, Overseas Service Bars-2, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, and Harold was recognized as an Â Expert (Rifle M16Ai).
Harold also loved to travel and took great pride in staying active and physically fit. He loved to stay in shape by jogging.
Harold will be missed by all those who loved him and whom he loved in return.
Harold is survived by his 4 sons, Jason Merriott of Alabama, Harold Ware of Hopkinsville, KY, Bryan Tyler of Hortense, GA and Joseph Merriott of Tulsa, OK.
Harold is also survived by 3 grandchildren.

Service will begin at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 29 Rose Hill Funeral Home (Chapel)
Harold will be laid to rest with Military Honors for the years of service in The United States Army Corp.
