Donna S. Young, 76, Machinist, passed away July 4, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Donna was born October 1, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents Forrest Ernest Lower Sr. and Opal Virginia Herd Lower. Donna was a lifelong resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma having attended and graduated Tulsa Central High School class of ’58. At 17 years old, Donna fell in love and married her soul mate Dalford Wayne Young on June 12, 1957. Their marriage would be blessed with 4 children Mickey Wayne Young, Clint Stormy Young, Heath Brian Young and La Wanda Grace Young-Sanchez. Donna and Dalford went on to adopt Rhadonna Lynn Timmons and Mark Allen Williams. Donna and Dalford celebrated 37 years of marriage before his passing in 1994.
Donna was always busy. Whether it was raising her children, whom she doted on lovingly, or working for Skinner Brothers Company as a machinist. She had worked loyally for Skinner Brothers for over three decades before she retired. When she could find some alone time, Donna loved to Crochet, musicals and was a bona fide science fiction buff. She loved family dinners especially if the meal included her favorites Fried Chicken, mash potatoes and cabbage! Add fried green tomatoes and a glass of crisp, cold ice tea and that would be a slice of heaven for Donna!
Donna loved God and was born again through His love. Her greatest desire was to see all of her family and friends born again. She found true guidance and love through the word of God and wanted everyone to experience that joy.
Donna loved the Lord, her beloved husband Dalford and her children. But, when she became a grandmother and later a great grandmother, life took on a whole new meaning. Donna watched her family blossom and for her, that was just more love to go around. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and spoiling them just a little. Donna loved to watch her grandchildren at their various sporting events and inevitably became their biggest cheerleader. She was so proud of each and every one of them and would want them to remember how truly loved they all were.
Donna will be remembered as a strong, independent, modest, country God fearing woman. She was loved by and loved all who came into her life. She will be remembered by all those who loved her and whom she loved in return.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dalford Wayne Young and parents Forrest and Opal Lower.
