Bobby “Bob” Ray Lancaster, Sr., 82, departed this life on May 20, 2017, in Tulsa, OK. He was born November 26, 1934, to Dorothy Andrews and Floyd C. Lancaster in Tulsa, OK. He graduated from Central High School in 1953. He started his career working for Baker Truck, now Ryder, then worked 27 years for Acme Auto Electric where he helped on a stock car pit crew for driver Angelo Howard. Then he opened his own shop called Bob’s Auto Electric for 5 years. He spent the past 25 years working at LEF, Inc. He also volunteered for 10 years as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Sheriff’s Department. He met Ruby Lancaster in 1965 and married her on August 30, 1966. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016. He loved his family and most of all his grandchildren and instilled in them his love for boating on the Oklahoma lakes.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Andrews and Floyd C. Lancaster. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lancaster; sons’ Bobby Ray Lancaster Jr. (Dee Lancaster); Timothy Lancaster (Norma Sergott); Don Jones; daughter Robbie Michelle Larsen (Steve Larsen); ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and services will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm here at Rose Hill Funeral Home in our chapel with burial to follow here at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
